English powerpoint: Language and the brain Language and the brain

This has been uploaded in response to a query in the forum about brain lateralisation. It is a simple presentation for a very complex subject but hopefully demonstrates the significance of the differences between language learning and language acquisition. This is not a presentation for classroom teaching, but can be used in teacher training. There are notes under every slide that the user can print, but if you are giving this as a presentation it is suggested that you become a little more familiar with the subject. If you are not into linguistics then this is not for you, but if you are then I think your students will enjoy it.

Very interesting! I think I aquired English as my second language, too - certainly more than I actually consciously learned it. It was still a mix though and that s the same with my mothertongue German. I learned / understood quite a few new German expressions as well as grammar rules through learning / aquiring English.
Thanks for sharing!
