Phonemic Sound Cards - Vowels
This is a fun game to revise vowels sounds, it gets the students moving, they play in teams, it is competitive and fast and lots of fun.
Distribute the sound cards on the wall or whiteboard. Place the word cards on a table in the centre. Put students in teams. One team member comes up at a time and waits for instructions. The teacher has a set of sound cards too (so print 2 sets) and holds up a random card. Students race to the table and find a word that contains the sound. they can consult with their team but it loses them time. They must pin thh word under the correct sound card. Award points for 1st 2nd 3rd correct pinning. Lots of fun shouting and harmless pushing may happen, itīs all in the spirit of the game. Enjoy! A grid witht he correct placings is included.
