TPR - Total Physical Response
Total Physical Response (TPR) is a method developed by Dr. James J. Asher to aid learning second languages. (To read more about the method go to Wikipedia). This PPT has about 50 slides of imperatives and actions. It begins with the easiest ones - stand up, jump, smile, turn around and evolves towards - wash your face, play the guitar, touch your knees, etc. You can add slides yourself, according to what your pupils like. At first, I used these actions in class without the PPT, but then gradually I used the action words with the PPT - so that my pupils can also READ the actions the already know. My pupils LOVE to begin each lesson with TPR, hope yours too. :-)
