Meet your Meat ::: Let´s go veg?
As a convicted vegetarian and strong upholder of animal rights, this is one of my favourite works ever. I actually did it, because my pupils had been requesting that for a long time. I told them it would be hard for them to see, but they accepted anyway. And I’m pretty sure that from that day on students changed their point of views. If you don’t feel comfortable to use this with adolescents, it’s great to use with your adult classes. The first slide will only work if you download the You Tube video “Meet your Meat” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-xLc0C8u9Y&playnext=1&list=PLD977C2A6FFC7B954 – you have to log in, because this is age-restricted). After watching the video, pupils will read about the various forms of vegetarianism, answer a few true-or-false questions and learn a vegan recipe. Hope you enjoy it. And don’t take me wrong: hope you can also make yourself think differently about what you put on your plates everyday! (IF YOU FACE ANY PROBLEMS DOWNLOADING THE VIDEO, PLEASE SEND ME YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS AND I´LL BE GLAD TO SEND IT.)
