Alphabet and other Classroom Language Elicitation Games
This is a review elicitation game about the alphabet and basic expressions like good evening, my name is...)
STEP 1: When the letters appear students have to say how they are pronounced. To make it more fun you can make the same letter disappear and then appear again (to make Ss repeat it many times). Then, students do the second task. What letters go into the /i:/ and /ei/ circle? For example A has the /ei/ sound. etc. Teacher writes them on the board.
KEY: /i:/ C, D, E, G, P, T, V, Z
/ei/ A, H, J, K
TIP: Focus on letters which may be confusing for students to say, i.e. DxG, DxGxJ.
TIP 2: You can add more fun to the revision by writing words like DJ and CD and making students practice them. What other abbreviations do they know? Ex: FBI, NYC, etc.
STEP 2: In the second part, students have to guess the expressions related to the pictures (these have to do with greetings and farewells).
