“NATIVITY” - recita natalizia in lingua Inglese
testo e sceneggiatura di Emanuela P.R. Fraschini
Emanuela P.R. Fraschini, un’insegnante di scuola primaria, ha realizzato a costo zero una recita natalizia in inglese con i suoi alunni di classe 2 e 3. Il testo è adatto anche per le classi 4 o 5, dipende dal livello del gruppo-classe.
La recita narra la storia della natività, dall’annuncio dell’angelo alla nascita di Gesù, utilizzando regole grammaticali conosciute dai bambini.
Comprende un balletto sulle note dell’Ave Maria di Schubert ed Adeste Fideles in Latino. E’ adatta anche a bambini non cattolici.
Personaggi:
M= Mary
J= Joseph
A= Angel
AA= Angels
L= lights
M= music
S= sheepers
C= children
G= grandma/
grandpa
La nonna è seduta con i nipotini e racconta loro la storia di Maria, una bella Ragazza di Nazareth (fidanzata con un uomo molto buono di nome Giuseppe), alla quale apparve l’angelo Gabriele che le annunciò che presto avrebbe avuto un bambino e che lo avrebbe chiamato Gesù, ma … fino a Natale avrebbe dovuto mantenere il segreto, poiché sarebbe stata una sorpresa per tutto il mondo.
Giuseppe e Maria si sposarono e si misero in viaggio per Betlemme, poiché il re voleva sapere quanti erano i suoi sudditi.
Maria e Giuseppe non trovarono posto negli alberghi, ma una cameriera indicò loro una grotta usata dai contadini come stalla, nella quale si sistemarono per la notte…..
Quella stessa notte, gli angeli svegliarono i pastori, esortandoli ad andare a trovare
Gesù Bambino, cantando “Adeste Fideles”.
Angeli, pastori, nonna e bambini, tecnici delle luci, cantano in coro.
La nonna è seduta con i nipotini e racconta:
G- Once upon a time, there was a beautiful girl
C- What was her name?
G- Her name was Mary
C- Where did she live?
G- She lived in Nazareth …. And she loved a good man
C- What was his name?
G- His name was Joseph
Si spengono le luci. Entra in scena Mary, che si inginocchia quasi al centro della scena, nel gesto di pregare
G- One day, Mary saw … a beautiful light (L sul soffitto, davanti a lei, per terra e poi sul viso dell’angelo, illuminando lui e Mary ogni volta che parlano) … and an Angel!
A- Hello, Mary! Ave Maria! Shalom!
M (spaventata e sorpresa) - Who are you?
A- I am an angel.
M- What’s your name?
A- My name is Gabriel. I tell you that you will have a baby very soon.
M- It’s impossible.
A- It’s possible. God wants it. (pausa, guardando il pubblico) But … it’s a secret! At Xmas night ( L sulle mani dell’angelo, che mima le stelle, il pacco-dono, il mondo ed indica tutti nel pubblico) it will be a surprise for every-body: Baby Jesus!
M- OK. Shalom!
Si spengono le luci ed entrano in scena alcune bambine che danzano sull’Ave Maria di Schubert, vestite da angeli, con una coreografia che imita una stella lampeggiante e che termina con le bambine che indietreggiano e si dispongono in riga, sullo sfondo, in piedi a mani giunte
G- Mary and Joseph got married. The went to Bethlehem, because the king wanted to count his people. At Xmas night…
Entrano in scena M e J, sottobraccio, lentamente. J si ferma e bussa nell’aria, verso il pubblico. I bambini parlano in sottofondo
J- Toc-toc
C- What’s your name?
J- My name is Joseph. My wife is ill. May we enter?
C- No!
La scena si ripete per 3 volte, in punti diversi del palcoscenico
J- Toc-toc
C- What’s your name?
J- My name is Joseph. My wife is ill. Can we enter?
W- No, it’s full. But … look! ( indica la strada verso la grotta)
J- Thank you!
J e M si dirigono alla grotta. J fa accomodare M.
J- We stay here
M- OK
Si spengono le luci. Gioco di L sul soffitto e per terra. La nonna avanza e si ferma sul lato opposto del palco
G- At Xmas night ….
Intanto alcuni pastori dormono in primo piano.
L sugli angeli, che battono le mani e svegliano i pastori
AA- Wake up! Wake up! Come and see Baby Jesus! Adeste, fideles … adeste, fideles!
Base musicale “Adeste fideles” in sottofondo. Tutti gli alunni cantano in Latino, mimando le parole, a turno
AA- Adeste fideles …angelorum
S (si alzano lentamente e si mettono in cammino fino alla grotta, cantando) - Venite adoremus … dominum!
C e G (avanzano lentamente e si dispongono dalla parte opposta)- En grege relicto… festinemus
L (entrano in scena, illuminano a terra e cantano) Venite,adoremus ….
Tutti gli alunni- Venite adoremus … Dominum
