This is related to my other slide called fashion and technology / unfamiliar words. Both of them are pre-reading activity. But you can use for any purpose. I myself involved simple present tense asking questions about pictures like:
Do you like this kind of clothes/ bags/ shoes etc?
Have you got a facebook/twitter account?
Do you know this song/movie/book etc?
Do you want to have this car/mp4 player/motorbike etc?
I had to divide my ppt show because of the size. But, I guarantee you that these popular pictures will attract your students so much.
