Writing a Convention of Rights
The PowerPoint outlines how the American Convention of Human Rights and the Constitution came into existence. It then goes on to guide students to write their own constitution of rights for another group, with the example being dogs. The students are encouraged to use vocabulary to express their view: It is essential that....., All dogs are entitled to.... etc.
It can then be used as a publuc speaking exercise or a writing task.
