What do they do ? What do they say ?
A powerpoint slideshow about what people do (jobs) and what they say. I have used this many times, very effectively, as a reading game. Print all the slides out. Slide 4 has 6 numbers on it. I usually have my students throw a sticky ball on this sheet. They get a number and then they look at the picture chart and tell the teacher what that person does. e.g He is a fireman etc. They then have to look at Slide 3 which has two small sentences in a speech bubble. They need to match the occupation with the correct sentences and then read it out aloud. Another variation - Print slides 3 & 4. Cut out the pictures and the dialogues and get students to match them and then read them out. Works well for groupwork.
