Pirate Game
GAME ACTIVITY: Pirate Game (this one has 16 squares)
This is a great game to review vocabulary and grammar points. My students love it. This one deals with movie genres, vocabulary to describe films as well as passive voice constructions. Split the class into two groups.Next, they have to choose the squares. For example, Group A chooses square 1 or 2 to start the game. Then, let Group B choose first between square 3 or 4. The students will answer questions about the vocabulary and grammar on the square. The winner is the group that has the highest score. Some squares have lucky cards (the treasure card) and others have unlucky cards (the skull). When they happen to choose a lucky card, they get the points on the card without having to answer any question. However, if they pick an unlucky card, they lose the number of scores shown on the card. The other squares have a variety of questions. The group only gets the scores on the card if they’re able to give a correct answer in 10’’. Write the group´s scores on the board.
