VOCABULARY IN CONTEXT -- WEATHER -- TORNADOES -- PART 1 OF 2
I donīt know about other countries, but in China we foreign teachers are forevermore tasked with "English Corner" -- it tends to be an hour-long dog & pony show about pretty much anything we choose. I often use mine to teach vocabulary in context and to do cultural exchange.
This PPT is about tornadoes. My hometown in the USA is smack in the middle of the deep South and we get our share and then some of highly destructive twisters. So I prepared this in the interest of "go with what you know!" LOL
The words in red italics are the words I challenge the group to figure out the meaning of by using context, root words, prefixes and suffixes. This is a method I use often and they are getting quite good at it.
