This is a great painting to introduce the Industrial revolution and to discover the steam engine. Pieces of the painting are hidden and the teacher may invite learners to make supposition about the picture. The hidden parts are unveiled little by little to confirm or disconfirm the learners´ hypothesis. A pleasant way to make them work on the description of the picture: foreground, background, in the middle, ... My students enjoyed it !!
