Just a few small dialogues (dialoguettes?) I put together on a ppt to do a few lessons on the past simple. The idea is pretty simple: I wanted my students to speak more before English pronunciation is bizarre at best and I think people always have problems with the past tense.
The class goes thusly:
Each conversation has 2 people with 2 sections each.
For each one I invite 2 students up to the front and give them a part (them must then stand under their name)
I usually give the class a few minutes to read the text and ask vocabulary questions.
The couple then read the text aloud.
I then ask the class a few rudimentary questions eg where was he/she - what did they do - where were they - why etc
I then ask how each character might be feeling and why
Then I get the couple (or a different couple is there are a lot of students) to reread the text but this time trying to do it naturally with emotion and without reading from the screen. (I used to be a musical director in a theatre so basically some of that) and then we move on to the next couple.
But in general however you feel comfortable in using the texts.
