Present Perfect Vs Past Simple
A look at the difference between Present Perfect and Past Simple.
We often start conversations in Present Perfect and then zoom in to the event and discuss it in Past Simple. One difference between Present Perfect an Past Simple is that we can´t use Present Perfect with ´Finished´ time expressions. In other words ´I have been to Paris in 1998´ is not correct, because 1998 is finished.
On page 2 the irregular verbs are grouped as how they sound rather than alphabetically, in order to help students remember them. The groups are then named, for example, ´The McDonalds Group´ when I ordered a strawberry shake but they gave me a banana one by mistake. Anyway, I took it. True story.
