Budy Reading program
I have written four simple readers using the Dolch High Frequency words 1-100. After testing their knowledge of these words, divide the class into two groups of students. Students 1-18 (from best reader down) form the ´teachers´ with 19-36 as the ´readers´. Each child has a buddy- Student 1 with student 19, 2 with 20 etc. The lower level students read daily to their buddy and practise their high frequency words.
