Writing Professional Emails
Objective:
Students will practice writing professional emails by utilizing information provided on profile cards. This exercise aims to improve their email etiquette, communication skills, and ability to tailor messages to different recipients.
This activity includes:
Profile Cards (each card contains fictional professional name, job title, and situations)
Begin by explaining the importance of professional email communication in the workplace.
Highlight key components of a professional email: subject line, salutation, body, closing, and signature.
Hand out one profile card to each student.
Ask students to draft an email based on their assigned scenario and the information on their profile card.
Pair students up to exchange their drafted emails.
Each student should review their partnerīs email, providing constructive feedback on clarity, professionalism, tone, and adherence to email etiquette.
Students will take the feedback from their peers and revise their emails accordingly.
