This being a phonics exercise. Try sounding out the words, slowly. For example: /e/, /l/, /b/, /ow/ (elbow). Students must wait till you have completed sounding out a word before identifying the picture, otherwise they cannot get the point. The chant is "/e/, /e/. Cracking an egg. (x 2)", whilst pretending to crack an egg open. With young children, you will find that some enjoy having the imaginary egg cracked upon the heads.
