Hh Picture Covers: An exercise in phonics with answer key and cumulative notes.
Hh. Cover the pictures as usual, then set a timer for 30 seconds. Students ‘jan-ken’ or roll dice to see goes first. The student has 30 seconds to uncover pictures and identify them, this is done one by one. If they misname or fail to identify a picture, then that picture is covered before play continues. After 30 seconds the next player goes. The chant is /H/, /h/ (as when you are out of breath). A very hot day. (x 2) While wiping your brow with the back of your hand.
