B1-B2 Ditransitive verbs - verbs with 2 objects (1)
Learning ditransitive verbs—verbs that take two objects—helps students express complex ideas more naturally in English, especially when describing actions involving both a direct object (the thing being acted upon) and an indirect object (the recipient of the action). For example, in sentences like “She gave him a gift,” “him” is the indirect object receiving “a gift” (the direct object). Mastering these verbs allows students to convey more precise meanings, whether giving, showing, sending, or telling something to someone, and improves their ability to create varied, detailed sentences essential for effective communication. First, students familiarise themselves with the 26 ditransitive verbs. Then they read the sentences to see which verb is required to complete the sentence. They will need to conjugate all the verbs.
