B1 -B2 Practice with present simple, present continuous, present perfect & present perfect continuous
Learning the present simple, present continuous, present perfect, and present perfect continuous tenses is crucial for students as these tenses allow them to express a wide range of meanings related to actions and states in the present. The present simple is used for routines and facts, the present continuous for actions happening now, the present perfect for past actions with relevance to the present, and the present perfect continuous for actions that started in the past and are still ongoing or recently completed. Mastering these tenses enables students to communicate clearly and accurately about current situations, habits, experiences, and ongoing actions, which are fundamental in both everyday conversations and more complex language use. First, students need to familiarise themselves with the 4 tenses and their usage. Then they read the sentences to see which tense is needed to complete the sentence using the given infinitive in ().
