Learning the past simple tense with questions, affirmative, and negative sentences is essential for students as it enables effective communication about past events. It provides a foundation for understanding grammar and constructing basic sentences, which is crucial for daily conversations. Mastering these forms ensures students can ask questions, share experiences, and negate statements accurately, laying the groundwork for more advanced language skills. First, students read the sentences and look at the infinitive verb in (). Then, they see if the verb is (+) for a positive sentence or (-) for a negative sentence to complete the gap-fill using the past tense of the given verb. Answers on page 2.
