A2-B1 Practise with future simple, future continuous, future perfect, future perfect continuous. 1
Learning the Future Simple, Future Continuous, Future Perfect, and Future Perfect Continuous tenses is important for expressing future actions and events with clarity and precision. These tenses allow students to talk about things that will happen, actions in progress at a future time, or actions that will be completed in the future. The Future Simple helps with making predictions, promises, and spontaneous decisions (e.g., "I will call you later"). The Future Continuous describes actions that will be ongoing at a particular point in the future (e.g., "I will be travelling next week"). The Future Perfect is used to express actions that will be completed before a certain time in the future (e.g., "By next year, I will have graduated"). The Future Perfect Continuous is used to show the duration of an action up to a future point (e.g., "By this time next month, I will have been working here for five years"). Mastering these tenses helps students make detailed future plans, set expectations, and convey precise timelines, making their communication more effective and accurate. Students familiarise themselves with the 4 tenses and their formation and use. Then they read the sentences to see which one is needed to complete the sentence using the given verb in (). Each form is used 5 times! Answers on page 2.
