Interesting facts - auction game
This game can cover your whole lesson. It starts by splitting the class into 2-3 groups. Each of the groups gets a certain amount of money - eg 50 000 dollars. Then you read the statements and the kids try to "fight" for it, especially if they think it is true. (Might be a bit noisy but you can take away money from a group for being too noisy.) You don´t tell them if it is true or not but you tell them that you have some true and some false statements prepared. Whenever a group "buys" the statement, you take away the money that they bought it for and then tell them whether it was true or false. If it was false, they only lost their money. If it was true, they get a point. And the group that has most points in the end wins. In case there are two groups with the same score, you count the money - the group with more money on their account wins. My kids love this game!
