This article was taken from the Chicago Sun Times website; the activities deal with numbers (find them in the text, re-write them and find out what they stand for). Then there is a "Find the French equivalent in the text" exercise, which can easily be tranferred to any other language. My students loved the fact that it was a real story, so the activity on numbers looked way easier to them.
