Korean Student Invites American Friend Over for Dinner
Before I arrived at my school, the students only repeated words given to them on a CD. I think itīs important that they learn how to "produce" English conversations. We started this lesson by writing a dialogue together on the board. Afterwards, I gave them this fill-in worksheet. They worked in groups of 4 and took turns role-playing. In the last part of the exercise, students wrote a short dialogue on the topic without any guidance and performend in front of their peers.
This was difficult for them, as Korean students can read and write but NOT speak English.
