Word cards to go with my ´Plurals Pond Game´
These are the cards to go with my ´Plurals Pond Game´ which is a game to practice plural endings. Students take it in turns to play. The teacher or a player turns over a card and puts it on top of the frog in the pond. Students then have to decide which lilypad to jump to (i.e. which ending to go with). If they get it right then they get to keep the word card, the winner is the student at the end of the game with the most cards. The rule´s generally speaking are...
If it ends in ´sh´, ´th´ ´ch´ or ´zz´, ´ss´ then you add -es (eg. witch = witches)
´f´ changes to ´v´ and you add -es (eg. 1 life = 2 lives)
´y´ changes to ´i´ and you add -es (eg. 1 cry = 2 cries)
most words just add ´s´ (eg. 1 pig = 2 pigs)
Some words stay the same (eg. 1 sheep = 2 sheep)
And some words are irregular and do something else(eg. 1 foot 2 feet)
Hope you like the game, any plurals that you´re not sure about just let me know...Em x
