My Secret Life
This lesson tied in with a previous lesson my ESL class had covered about secret identities and the world of espionage (James Bond, etc.).
After a warm up which included students telling me which famous person they would like to be for a day, we moved onto the topic in hand, which was assuming the identity of someone else and having a secret life that nobody else knew about.
After the students answered questions to show that they understood th main concept of the text, they were given a creative writing assignment to write about their own secret life.
There was a successful conclusion to the activity as 90 of the students completed the assignment to a satisfactory level or better. This was higher than usual, which suggested that this particular writing assignment inspired this group of 15 year old Thai students to put pen to paper.
