She´s So Heavenly She´s Devilish
On NBC news, I saw where an ESL teacher used Shakespeare to teach his students English. Since I work at a DAEP with "at risk students," many with gang affliations, I have to make things relevant and engaging. (Many are ESL students.) Since I have mostly boys, they like this section from Romeo and Juliet since this is when Romeo first "spies" Juliet and they want to know what "a Romoe" would say to get the girl. They translate Spakespeare into both modern English and their street slang.
