Learning Vocabulary
ESL students commonly learn vocabulary by applying the ´rote´ learning metod. This may be OK for beginners, but particularly from the Intermediate level, grammar starts to play an important part. Students are encouraged to consider words as a ´family´. That is, when learning a word, consider the noun, verb, adjective, adverb & especially, all verb tenses. That is, the ´word family´! In this way, students learn vocabulary & grammar at the same time.
