I used this worksheet with 16 and 17 year old studnets to help them prepare the speaking techniques used in formal presentations. The rule is: structure words are stressed. (See the lesson plan of the same name). I also used this lesson to reinforce students awareness that sometimes the same word can be different parts of speech depending upon its context by drawing their attention to the word "had" which can be both a main verb and an auxiliary verb.
