Conjunctions - The Ant and the Dove
An Aesop fable used to show how drab language would be without conjunctions by telling the story in simple sentence form. Then the story is presented in rich language, enabled by the use of conjunctions.
The first version, having been read, can have a conversation about the flow of the story, the difficulty of keeping track of what is happening as the reader has to keep track of some seemingly unrelated ideas, the enjoyment felt in the first reading, etc.
The second version can be read with emotion to stress the effect of writing with conjunctions.
