Happy New Year in other languages
This is a good, post Christmas warmer. Students teach each other how to say Happy New Year in their language - Its best without looking at list first so that you can introduce the concept of sight and sound differences in English. I try to use it to start "training" learners to write what they hear phonetically as an aid to learning. Additional languages can be researched re : on line translation websites, and/or you can get them from your learners (I usually save Polish for last!)
