card 1 from theTsunami unit
This is card 1 from my Tsunami Unit. The unit is comprised of cards, a glossary, lesson plans and an original play I wrote. I also have computer based activities. Based on true heroic deed of a child. The child saved her family from the tsunami that hit the shore where the family was on vacation. She warned the family as she recognized the signs of a Tsunami, from what she learned at school. I also combined elements from an old Japanese folk tale about a boy saving his village from a flood. Both elements have valuable educational messages. Forwarding inter- cultural awareness as well as practicing English through different task based channels was my purpose. Culminating in a full class play, the reaction of both parents and pupils was amazing.***Feel free to make changes in the cards appropriate for your country .
