Agree or Disagree
1. Divide the classroom into for sections or corners: agree, disagree, slightly agree, slightly disagree.
2. The teacher reads out a statement and puts it on the OHP for students to read it again by themselves.
3. Then they move into the section of the classroom which best reflects their opinion on this matter.
4. In their group (if a large group is in one section, split it up into pairs or smaller groups of three to four students) students discuss for a few minutes the statement and how they feel about it. They then present their reasons for agreeing or disagreeing fully or slightly with the statement.
ģ Serious discussions can develop from this game depending on the level of the students and their cultural background.
ģ Do a maximum of to statements per lesson, otherwise students tend to get overwhelmed.
