Jigsaw activity about chocolate
This is a lesson plan you can also do as a cooperative learning activity. Here is how you can do it:
Activity 1: Expert teams
Procedure (steps):
- Divide the class into 4 groups
- Give text A to group 1 and 2 and text B to group 3 and 4.
- Ask them to read it.
- Give them an exercise to complete together.
- By completing the exercise, students will discuss about the topic.
When they know the material well, assign Jigsaw teams
Activity 2: Jigsaw teams
Procedure (steps):
- Place 1 member of each expert group together to form groups of 4.
- Ask them to tell the other members what they know about the topic.
- When they have shared their knowledge, give them a set of questions to complete. This will lead them to further discussion about the topic.
