School of Rock Dialogue
Dialogue from School of Rock -
1. Read through dialogue with students first (teacher plays Mr. S)
2. In groups - have the students pick out and circle any music words they find.
3. Have each student write one word on the board.
4. Discuss any vocab they donīt know (music words - pluck, strum, guitar pick, etc.), and correct pronunciation (cello, percussion, bass, etc.)
5. Have the students translate instruments into their language.
6. Have them put the instruments into different categories as a class (orchestra) - strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion.
7. Discuss idioms/slang together - keep it zipped, waste of time, down-low, dude, etc.
8. Watch the scene in the movie.
9. Have each student answer the questions on their own.
10. Final question can be homework - design your own rock band/cd cover/songs, etc.
