Fashion Decades
This worksheet can be used to introduce the topic of clothes in a different way. It serves as a competition game, and also as an eliciting tool. I attach a proposal for class.
Competition game. Fashion decades.
Introduction: Do you know about fashion? Do people wear like fifty years ago? / Is fashion today like 50 years ago?
In pairs. Give them a copy with the pictures.
Instructions: Order these photographs by decades: From the 40s to the 80s. Each picture corresponds to a different decade.
Let’s see who finds the solution first.
2) Discussion. Style and situation.
Formal, informal, smart, casual, loose, tight, light. E.g.:
Who is wearing casual clothes? Answer: 70s. It’s the same as informal.
Who is wearing formal clothes? Answer: Some of them.
Who is wearing tight clothes? Answer: Boy with red shirt.
Who is wearing light clothes? Answer: Not thick or heavy. The woman with pink dress.
