Last year I had a “difficult” class ( a CEF, my fellow Portuguese colleagues know what it is), so it was very difficult to motivate them. Anyway, when I tried to teach the Simple Past, I had to find new ways to do it. This was one of them: I’ve used some mini-films from Charles Chaplin (That I’m sure you can easily find in youtube) and did this activity. Students have to complete the films´ summaries, using the Simple Past of the verbs in brackets. I hope it’s useful!
