Phone Conversation
This is a lesson I created to teach the content from New Horizon 1, Unit 9, Speaking Plus 3. Students can engage in an activity that focuses on practicing phone dialogue.
A bingo game is on also attached. To prepare for the game, students should fill in the first row with days of the week. The rest of the white boxes should be filled in with numbers 1-12.
Then the teacher and students engage in a conversation. The teacher "calls" the student and tries to make plans, then the student should indicate they are busy and will suggest a better day and time. The alternative date and time which the student picks is the box marked off for the bingo game. The idea of this Bingo game to get students engaged in the dialogue since their aim is to get a bingo. Students voluntarily converse with the teacher to get Bingo on their own cards.
*If students are engaged in the activity, they can domino off each other and students may "call each other" and reschedule plans.
*If students are lower level have students listen, have a conversation between the ALT and JTE.
