Do you understand these instructions?
Students have a hard time understanding instructions so this exercise is a great warmer in order for students to do the exercises by following instructions. In sentence one, I put my name, so cross it out and put yours. Again, this activity is a warmer.
Some samples of the instructions:
Find three errors in the first three sentences.
Write your surname in the left-hand box.
Circle every a (article) in the first 15 sentences.
There are some expressions students should be familiarized first. Some of the expressions are cross out, left-hand or right-hand (these expressions are considered as one word separated by a hyphen). Students have found this to be challenging but rewarding. Pair up students and have them work on it after doing it individually.
Enjoy.
