FALSE FRIENDS : a tennis match game (instructions + key)
Split the class in two groups A and B. In each group, pair students. They read their sentences and underline the false friend and provide a possible correct word.
Then check their answer with the other pairs of the same group.
After that, One member in A reads out their incorrect sentence. Those in B have to find out the mistake and again a member from A tells the correct word. It’s like a tennis match.
The aim of the activity is to have two groups of 20 false friends.The winner is the group with the most right answers.
