Health Problems/ Home Remedies
This is a fun board game in which students practice giving advice or suggestions about common health problems. It is best to play the game with 3-4 students so there is more opportunity for conversation. They try to explain simple home remedies for common health problems. There 2 pages. The first page is the game board and the second page gives various phrases you should teach the students before playing the game.
The students roll a dice and move their markers around the board. Each time a student lands on a space, they need to ask a question, for example, “What should I do if I have a headache?” Each of the others students need to explain what they think the person should do if they had a headache. It’s actually been very interesting to hear some of the ideas they share from different cultures.
As a follow up activity I have them choose one home remedy to write about. Then, we make a home remedy booklet.
