Katy Perry: Thinking of you
A great activity for middle/high-school students. The lyrics to the song "Thinking of you" by Katy Perry are broken up into chunks to be cut out and handed to the students. Make sure that they note that every part has a letter to identify them more easily, but they do NOT go in alphabetical order! Also have them take out parts A, H, and K, which are the chorus. Make sure they note the small differences in each. They listen to the song, repeating it as often as necessary, and they put the parts in order. Afterwards check their comprehension of the song by asking how many people there are in the song (3), who they are (a girl, her boyfriend, her ex-boyfriend), who she likes the most, etc. Also explain any difficult sayings or grammar.
