Interpreting Class - Welcome speeches

I´ve used this activity with a group of Polish Ss in their 2nd year interpreting class. The procedure: Distribute the role cards. Allow some time for presenters to prepare their welcome speeches. Ask the interpreters to predict the language they might need. Ask pairs (presenter + interpreter) to stand in front of the whole group and perform. Ask the audience to provide feedback.
