Kill Your TV/ Computer Project
This project is to help children imagine life without TV or computers by trying to turn it off for a week. During that time the children keep writing a diary about how they spend their days. It is based on the international idea of TV Turnoff Week http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TV_turnoff and it is especially suitable for the days of April 20-26 and September 20-26 in year 2009 because those are the official weeks for TV Turnoff campaign. I´ve done this with my 6th graders and the results were most fascinating. However, I do recommend to consult the parents before you assign the project.
