´Boggle´ style spelling game filler
This is basically the game ´Boggle´, except the letters are less random. I find this a great filler or lesson ender - the students like it too. You can make the focus a long word to be discovered linked to what you have been teaching - the winner being the first one to find it. Or make the object of the game the most (real!) words, or the most points. I generally score per letter - 3 letters, 3 points - 4 letters, 4 points etc.
Works with pairs, or individually. Students can peer mark - or you can do it (it saves arguments!!) A time limit is useful.
An example sheet is included - as is a blank template. You can put it on the board, but I find the little sheets better it enables the students to ´visualise´ the words if they have it in front of them.
