Activity One: 1. Students listen to the song and circle the correct word in each minimal pair. *Further /r/ /l/ pronunciation drills can be done if necessary Purpose: /r/ /l/ pronunciation / Bottom-up listening/ Activity Two: 1. Teacher reads the song to the students, one section at a time. 2. They have approximately two minutes to repeat the line silently to themselves while drawing any image or symbol that pops into their heads. 3. After completing the drawings for all six sections they take turns recounting their interpretations of the lyrics. Purpose: Mental rehearsal / Storytelling / Q&A Follow-up activity: Have students describe their feelings about places they feel at home.
