Breaking the ice
This is a pair-work activity. After the students write answers to the questions they exchange the answers and ask each other questions about their partners replies. Eg.A: Why did you write "1977"? B: Because I was born in 1977.
As an optional follow-up activity, as the students may not know each other, they can report back the most important information to the whole class about their partner.
Although not a very attractive printable (the card is 3 times on the sheet, making it also a very economical one:-)) , but an interesting activity for first lessons with students the teacher doesnīt know and they donīt know each other either. For me it was useful to find out how much they can really use English, what forms they have problems with, and most importantly it is much more exciting than the exremely boring "Please introduce yourselves..." formula that is obligatory with a new group. Hope many will find it useful!
