ROLE PLAY/SIMULATION ON RUNNING A TV STATION ROLE PLAY/SIMULATION ON RUNNING A TV STATION

This exercise is intended to improve studentsī self-confidence and fluency of expression. The vocabulary flows out of the set context and the minutes/report of the meeting can be written by students afterwards for homework. It enables students to challenge and cross swords with each other. I and my colleagues have found it very entertaining and enjoyable and it produces good group dynamics. The whole exercise can be re-run several times, reallocating the roles of students and changing the chairperson. The teacher should ideally take a back-seat and avoid interrupting the natural language flow. After the exercise is over the teacher can provide vocabulary and constructive criticism. The whole exercise can be videotaped and subsequently viewed and commented on. I hope this group activity works well and runs smoothly for you. It is good practice in expressing ones emotions and feelings in a foreign language! I would appreciate your feedback ...
