English worksheet: Sia-Breathe me, listening Sia-Breathe me, listening

A song listening where Ss have to fill the gps with the missing words. Plus a conversation/writing activity. As the song is very poem-like the interpretations can be very different. The ws gives you few ideas, which can be developed. here is the link to the song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wPo993nWGw As the preview doesnt show the 3rd page, that i think is important, i will paste the content of this page over here: Read what people have to say about the song and try to think what you feel when you listen to the song. I love this song. It´s about being alone and needing someone. Such a vulnerable song, and the way Sia sings it... beautiful. FeyTH The meaning to me is that of a military sniper. The lyrics go really well with this. " Help, I have done it again I have been here many times before Hurt myself again today And, the worst part is there´s no-one else to blame" -The Sniper is referring to the person that he has shot "I´ve done it again" and he has done this multiple times "I’ve been here many times before", and the only person that the sniper can blame for doing this is himself. He is the one killing other people. The long pause between the lines; And breathe me and then a 5 second pause; OUCH. The Sniper is literally breathing, a key component of any type of marksmanship. He holds his breath for the few second pause in the song, pulls the trigger and then the bullet strikes the enemy with the line "OUCH!" "Ouch I have lost myself again Lost myself and I am nowhere to be found, Yeah I think that I might break I´ve lost myself again and I feel unsafe" Ouch indicates the bullet hit the enemy, and now he has literally lost himself. He i a cold blooded killer who is slowly slipping away from being a normal sane human being. Burke888 this song means so much. its sad, but there’s also much hope in it too. it sounds like an end to something but then feels like a new beginning slk9877 I love how simple the lyrics are yet she made such an epic sounding song out of it. Precipitate this song is so beautiful. I agree with most of you, i think it does mean that she feels small hence "i am small" and she need comfort. its an upsetting song, very emotional, but i cant help listening to it 10 times over! I love this song, its one of my all time favourites. I too think that the words "breath me" mean she wants the listeners to feel as she feels, walk in her shoes etc. This song is amazing. I’ve only heard of sia recently but as soon as i did i instantly saw her as an absolutely amazing song writer, and person from what ive read about her! Gorgeous song guy, I’d recommend it to anybody!
